They must find women easy marks. I just pulled the wheels off my Mothers car because the dealership did a "FREE" 32 point inspection and said she needs new brakes.

There is a good 3/8 of an inch of pad left on them before she hits the wear strips. The amount she drives that will out last her drivers license. It will be years before I need to replace them.

I decided to look and do it myself because they wanted $850 for the brake job.....View attachment 1165315

I get talked down upon by men all the time. At least if they are selling or buying. Always when money is involved.
Brake parts don't cost $850... most of that goes to the shop.. We just did the total brakes on our Buick, Jeep cherokee and Ford... maybe $150 for all 3 vehicles..

I know. She called me ,thankfully, from the dealership and asked if $850 was a good price for brakes.....AT that price I would hang out a shingle and do brakes for a living!!

They told her it would take 7 hours to do brakes..I am guessing they hire special needs mechanics if that is the case.

That’s crazy, same problem here, people want to buy them for$5 tofeed ti their dogs.First of all I paid 3x that for the chick, not to mention organic feed etc. I told my husband the roosters were worth more asfood for our family. This was the moment he finally got on board with eating an animal we raised. So personally I’m grateful for Craigslist. Then again no ones been bat$h!t crazy enough to yell at me, demand my address, And tell me I will sell my chickens for chicken scratch or else! Good luck!

Yes. That's pretty crazy. I never give out my address or ph #(only the town name so people can determine a drive time estimate). Once they contact me via email & give me a ph#, then I'll call to talk in person & finally give my ph# & a place to meet - which is not always at our house. I suppose I might lose some sales, but better safe than sorry.

I know how you feel. I'll give away free young male chicks if they're sexlinks - since there's really no market for them here. Roosters are illegal in most towns, so even my most handsome, gentle, purebred, lav orp, matured roosters won't sell. However, I stopped giving away male chicks over 5-6 weeks old. If I grow them out another few weeks, we can eat them & recover some of their feed costs. Why give them away to a stranger?
