Yes. That's pretty crazy. I never give out my address or ph #(only the town name so people can determine a drive time estimate). Once they contact me via email & give me a ph#, then I'll call to talk in person & finally give my ph# & a place to meet - which is not always at our house. I suppose I might lose some sales, but better safe than sorry.

I know how you feel. I'll give away free young male chicks if they're sexlinks - since there's really no market for them here. Roosters are illegal in most towns, so even my most handsome, gentle, purebred, lav orp, matured roosters won't sell. However, I stopped giving away male chicks over 5-6 weeks old. If I grow them out another few weeks, we can eat them & recover some of their feed costs. Why give them away to a stranger?

We only give addy to people whom agreed upon price etc.. address and appointment time only after that fact established. We only appoint days when both of us are here as well.

Same here. Plus I don't go alone---figure that adds some safety.

We mark our swine with colored wax crayon.
Orange not for sale or sold and BRIGHT GREEN for sale....
EVERYTIME!!!.. I want the orange one towards the back.. Just minutes after explaning the meaning of the 2 colors.
Then tell them sorry, only green tagged are available.. THEN.. why? why why?
While the whole time they turned their kids loose like is is a petting zoo playground.
