EDUCATIONAL INCUBATION & HATCHING CHAT THREAD, w/ Sally Sunshine Shipped Eggs

So have I! But this one was different.

Anyways, I just had a HORRID egg candling session on the kindergartner eggs. The brinsea mini has just been a freaking pain in the butt for me. FIVE out of seven were blood rings. Made me mad!
Blood rings are bacteria getting into the egg. Did you wash them with a weak bleach solution? The helps to prevent blood rings--along with washing the incubator the same way

Another funny moment of the day:
DS was Student of the week (2nd grade) and shared a little about himself & of course his chickens. Today he received a cute memory book from his classmates. It was very sweet and will be cherished. However it did tell me that we need to invite a couple of his classmates over to play, so they may see what real chickens look like. LOL

I really enjoy children's abstract art.

:D I went to close the coop, and made some discoveries.
1) It's been too long since I've had birds in the big coop.
2) I have skunks, and should never forget to have AND USE a flashlight.
3)The run door was crooked due to a board coming loose. It is too late at night to be hammering though.
4) It was a great idea to keep a clamp in the coop. The door is fixed now. :D

Did you also discover your lighter was missing, and instead burn your clothes with flint and steel?
