That's the hope! We've already established some positive sleep habits: sleeping only in the crib, having a loose evening bedtime routine, not rocking him to sleep, and having him learn day and night by keeping the lights dim at night and having the sun come in through the windows during the day seems to be getting him on the right path. He started out a fantastic sleeper from the get go, so that may be working in our favor.

Virkon or chlorhexidine works well and there's no smell.

Bingo!! Plus, hatching eggs are messy, they'll get smut all over the incubator if you hatch in there.

It is possible to keep the incubator fairly clean if you hatch in little containers. Secures the mess.

I like proper spelling. Shavings here are purchased for $5.20 I believe. They are used to me stopping in to check for course shavings. Yes I'm picky.

Oh yes. Then you have me who stagger hatches 100% of the time, turns them by hand, stacks the eggs and hatches them in the same incubator. If I hatch all year...I disinfect it once in the middle. I like to buck the trend...lol.
I have a DIY styrofoam incubator. It's easier to clean than you think it would be.
It also depends on how you design it.
It's this clean. So pretty clean. Also a pic of it stacked a bit.



And proof that one should always put two lightbulbs in if that's your heat source. The one burnt out while taking pictures.
