EDUCATIONAL INCUBATION & HATCHING CHAT THREAD, w/ Sally Sunshine Shipped Eggs

I built a shed for my dairy does on Thanksgiving day, and a second one on Friday. I am currently working on my stall in the extension I put on my barn last month.
The tin was used and needs painted to match, but at five dollars per thirteen foot sheet, it is fine for goats. I used the two left over sides from the free metal cages to make hay feeders on the back walls (blue panels)View attachment 1204351View attachment 1204353 View attachment 1204354 View attachment 1204355 . I put hay doors in the back of each so I can fill without going into the pen or shed.
Awesome, I’m still working on the leveling of the new garden space/chicken coop and getting ready to put in fencing I got about the same time as you did your cages.

WOW! .... & I thought our winters were rough. We get a few stretches of below zero temps that includes some very cold nights with -40'F or lower wind chills. However we certainly don't see 70'F temps in winter.
Is was a January day. We get fifty degree swings a lot, but usually seventy plus degrees is occasional or over two days. The swings are what is awful. Sweat then freeze. It is still not seventy below like we had as a kid the worst we get is in the teens below, and that is rare. Zero and singles below we do a few days. Mostly when we get winter it is in the single digits and teens. We will alternate lows to forties and fifties. But it is always in flux. To get extended cold spells depends on the year.

What is just part of Tornado Alley. It is these same type of temperature swings that get us in the springtime when the northern and the southern at air masses collide and give us tornadoes.

Giving up on breastfeeding and now doing pumping with formula supplements until my supply increases a bit. After discovering power pumping (which simulates cluster feeding) yesterday I did my second ever session after feeding Honeybee and managed to get a little over 3 ounces in one pumping session. This is a miracle after so many disappointing sessions of only getting 1-2 ounces.

San Antonio got honest-to-goodness snow tonight. Friends are posting pictures. Here we had a little snow a week ago but not cold enough to stick. It's 2 degrees celsius (that's 36 degrees fahrenheit for Americans) so unless we get a hard freeze for a couple days before it snows we aren't going to have any that sticks around.

@daxigait Here ya go! https://www.etsy.com/shop/hippiestinksoapco
If you're willing to wait 12 more days we'll be stateside and you can take advantage of the cheaper US prices and the flat-rate US shipping.

Where did you live as a kid to get 70 below?

Here, Ken.

Good morning everyone. It is 14 this morning so I got to wear my good coat, but it is still too warm to zip it up. I don't get to wear it much around here. By mid morning I will have to trade coats. I am glad I brought it though since my truck didn't start. It is best below zero.
