And no one that have show birds, close to SOP, will leave them outside exposed to the elements especially in winter.( I think.....)
It doesn't really get cold enough for it to be a worry here. At least, here in the southern half of the US. I can really only speak for those I know and what I've seen. I'm sure there are folks that fight their birds that use the same methods. As much as I wish that 'tradition' would die out.

I keep my showbirds inside for at least 2 months before a show. Otherwise the sun destroys the feather color and texture. So as much as I hate to say it..Bennie is correct.....Proving even a blind squirrel can find an acorn now and then.....:lau:lau:lau:lau:lau:lau:lau:lau:lau:lau:lau:lau

Everyone in my contact list seems to have texted me in the last few days. Everyone is sick, and miserable.
My family is at my mother’s for a belated Christmas. I stayed here for several reasons. I don’t like my family, and the used swing set I was supposed to get two weeks ago (but frozen to the ground), was going to be arriving this weekend. I couldn’t really use those excuses, so I said I was needed here to keep water available for the birds. No way did I want to move eleven birds into my basement. :sick
I’m still dying(sick), but don’t feel so awful. But I’m getting nervous about this guy bringing the swing. He has great reviews, but I haven’t heard from him yet. At least I haven’t paid yet.
The grandkid gave us the plague last week...

@BantyChooks I did enough winter growing up. It says it feels like 7 out there right now. Tomorrow's high is 15. The problem here are the swings. Last Thursday it was 68° then it dropped that night, and we have only made the thirties twice since then. It is hard on the animals when it is quite warm than ice/snow and cold, and now colder heading for zero. They shiver because it is too much of a shift. When I first moved here I could not understand calling thirty cold, but if it was seventy earlier that day or weeks of 50-60° before plunging to single digits and near thirty I understand now. Give me just cold or not the swings are harder.
