Thanks Dax, same to you. The dogs have been on Holiday break from herding lessons.We're supposed to start again Saturday, but the weather forecast says otherwise.
 
Yes, when they run sled dogs sometimes they use the little dog booties.
I saw a guy here several years ago conditioning his team by having them pull a wheeled sled across dry ground in the summer. I don't suppose that's too unusual, but I'd never given it any thought.

We used to condition dogs with a "roading rack"; a metal framework fitted to a 4WD, riding mower or tractor, with snaps & chains to hook the dogs to.

Yes, I think the mushers can get rather creative in training there dogs when snow is not available.
