EDUCATIONAL INCUBATION & HATCHING CHAT THREAD, w/ Sally Sunshine Shipped Eggs

I have never had my chickens out free ranging when we have snow as I think it makes them targets for hungry predators. I am also only two years in so frostbite was my best guess.
Best guess anyone can make without being there.

Very nice! I need some chicks, but I don't want to deal with a brooder so I will just have to wait for a spring broody. I have been amazed that no birds in my production group have ever gone broody. While I understand the couple of Leghorns and ISA not going broody, the EE, bym, and CCL are odd. My one EE in the coop with the HRIR has joined a couple of my HRIR that like to go broody once. :confused:
