EDUCATIONAL INCUBATION & HATCHING CHAT THREAD, w/ Sally Sunshine Shipped Eggs

You wanna talk about weather?!
Most people have thirty minutes to do chicken chores before frostbite is a problem. I’ve only had ten minutes!! I’ve had frostbite, and this cold has been very painful! I somehow lost every hat and scarf I own! I finally ordered a few items to be delivered Tuesday, and now we’re going to warm up! :barnie
The birds are all fine. Even the bantams are wandering outside now and then. The dog is dealing okay except two nights ago. He went out damp, and in the minute (if that) it took him to pee, he was cold down to the bone. I spent the night holding him against me, hoping he would be okay. He was probably fine after a short time, but I only woke enough to keep myself from letting him go, and rolling over. I couldn’t think to feel for shivering.
Been under 10 minutes here... I layer up like the michelin man just for changing water. Carhartt gloves rock.

cc!! You did return. :hugs I was afraid you'd forget.
Banty, I always try to keep my promises :hugs
I was on earlier today, but everyone was busy elsewhere. :(
As for the curling thing, curling is for Canadians who can no longer play hockey. One of the reasons I will never give up hockey.
Although I vaguely remember throwing the odd curling stone, it seems to me there has always been copious amounts of 'spirits' involved when I partook in such events.

HEY!! :tongue

Wicked is the curler.
:D

MC, your presence made me want to post!:hugs
I have been super busy the past 6-8 months, and have been only able to check in from time to time unfortunately. Mostly late in the evening, when most have called it a night.:(
I am just trying to catch up with all of my friends here on BYC now that life has returned to some sort of normal:D
Very funny!!

We are having a heat wave here... 26F today, 28 tomorrow.
Supposed to be back to -18 to -20F by Friday, good times!

Too true. Do you follow the NHL any?

This is my favorite piece of winter gear. Last seen about three weeks ago. Duckling hasn’t seen it (I checked her toy boxes and bedroom anyway), so I’m at a loss. I ordered something similar (but a LOT cheaper) to replace it. Gotta love Carhartt!!
I’ve been wearing a coat on occasion, but sometimes just a sweatshirt and jeans or sweats. The thickest “insulated” socks haven’t been enough for my feet. My toes burn almost as soon as I step outside. I have gloves, but most times one or both has to be removed because it got wet, or the run door is being a pain.
Of course, I’ve been pretty sick, and the cold has been hurting my lungs. Duckling was only allowed outside one time while I was doing the coop stuff. She didn’t argue about going back inside.

Banty,
is there anything else to do in this weather?
Yes, I have the NHL network on satellite, share season tickets for the Winnipeg Jets, but live and cry by the Bruins.
If I am not mistaken, you are a Habs fan, correct?
BRUINS? And here I thought you were a sort of all right guy. :(

Correct. Canadiens all the way.

I lost mine about a year ago and haven't replaced it. Too cheap. I need to eventually, my face gets dangerously cold without it even if I pull my hood down all the way.
