Anyone who says chickens are dumb.. I've got news for you.

Just got back from a barley grain run and Pinky & Sunny come running at the speed of light, flew right up and called "dibs" on this barrel.

Yes, but when you throw 8 tomatoes into a coop with 6 chickens. They all attack the tomatoes, but ONE chicken runs off with ONE tomato, and 5 chickens chase her. One smartens up, goes back and eats 7 tomatoes while the other 5 chickens fight over the 1 that the chicken ran off with.

The parents/grandparents/friends who didn't raise the younger generations to be adults and be confident in themselves. I'm fortunate that most of the young individuals the boy hangs with have not been raised like that. They already have jobs, they pay their own way, they have responsibility and best yet...they can already think for themselves and believe in themselves without their parents. Very standup young adults.

There are those kids as he mentions. However I feel that parents and adults, in general, have forgotten that kids are people too. The children haven't been included in discussion and it appears that they've been excluded in general by adults.

I cannot believe how surprised kids look to be addressed by their name and as a person when I greet them with a smile on route. It's like they've never been included in anything. In a two week time period, with simple politeness, I've gotten entire busloads of students to greet me with a smile and good morning pleasantries, use good manners and leave from the bus after school with a friendly goodbye and well wishes. Their entire confidence and demeanor change substantially with those few basic kindnesses.

I don't know how it is in other countries, but here (U.S.A) I think the public school systems and colleges/universities have much to do with it. It's not the homes giving out awards and trophies to everyone for everything.

Don't forget the parents who give their kids monetary rewards for doing what members of a family should be doing anyway.
