So I have some banty eggs in my bator, and they are a staggered clutch. I couldn't resist putting them in as my hen layed them, so they are all one day apart. Not orthodox, I know. But the 2 oldest are on day 6, and have beautiful veining and a moving embyro with an eye. I was just candling them and had my i phone set up on the floor with the flashlight on, and put the egg on that, but it rolled off onto the tile floor. Nothing happened to it, but will it be alright? Stressful.

The benefit of candling is that it will let you see if there are any cracks.

Good, I was worried about jostling the embryo too much. Not gonna candle tomorrow, just turn, though I adore candling!

when I started up the incubator about a month ago, it was perfectly set from the last hatch a year or so ago. I almost put the eggs in tonight without letting the incubator come to temperature.
It may have kinda sorta been at 108°
And this is why we don’t assume!!
