EDUCATIONAL INCUBATION & HATCHING CHAT THREAD, w/ Sally Sunshine Shipped Eggs

You want more? You can have my blue skies. This sunlight is killing me one degree at a time. I think I'm a vampire or something, because grey skies are just fine by me.

That sounds nice, I wouldn't mind living in a log cabin---except in winter. What area of ON? Sault ste. marie area, more north, more south?

Good point. I'm the last of the gullible people around here. :caf
Not sure which part; somewhere that gets lots of that white stuff. Come to think of it, he did mention the nearest town in an early episode. I'll check; don't go away.
I can't find it. He mentioned it somewhere prior to the 15th episode of season 2

Practically everywhere in Ontario gets lots of white stuff. Goodness, you must really like it to keep watching that long.

Is this the guy?
Nature lover Shawn James owns 20 acres outside of Algonquin Park in Ontario, Canada

I got told no to goats for years and years. But I kept asking.
The main reason we got them (other than them being cute) was for brush clearing, and boy, have they delivered.

This was solid green three weeks ago.

By Americanas, do you mean Easter Eggers or true Ameraucanas? Dominiques are nice, just not my thing. I like their tail sets, very elegant.
The idea is true ameraucanas.... I did purchase the apa standard of perfection so I can start figuring out what that looks like. So far I only have hatchery stock on most breeds..... mostly from privet hatchery

Yeah, sounds like him. His 20 acres backs up to the end of a lake, and is mostly wooded; all the logs for the cabin came off his property, and were all processed with only hand tools, save a chainsaw once or twice.

Good for you! I'd recommend joining or hovering around the Ameraucana Breeders Club. They have a lot of stuff to read on their website.

My youngest daughter is loVin the turkens.... we took 2 to our local county fair and they came home with ribbons, I plan to breed them closer to sop but I think we have some decent ones to start with.
I think the hardest part is finding decent birds to start with close-ish to where we are. Most folks around here seem to be happy with layer hybrids and buying more every couple of years.

I'm in the 3rd or 4th season with a couple of my BCMxRSL layers.
