Yrs ago, I had swim lessons from the red cross. If you are stuck in water with long pants on, take off your pants while treading, tie the legs together close to the bottom cuffs as possible. Hook them over your head with the knot behind you. Squeeze the waste line together and blow into the pants until they inflate. Squeeze the waste line closed. Repeat as necessary.
Back in the day I was certified by passing this last test. but it was by wearing blue jeans. Jeans were popular. I don't know if today's sweat pants work.

I remember learning that in school. We had a chance to take swimming instead of traditional gym class. If you passed that advanced swimming class you were a certified lifeguard at the end. I loved that class and got my licence never did anything with it.

We're still staying dry up here on our hill. Husband just went to work. He said the roads are still good along his path but the rivers are getting extremely high. He said not to go anywhere today. Praying for everyone stuck by the high waters.

I was about 15/16 y/o- late 70's. I had one of those certificates. Never did anything with it.To be Young... oh the days. That was when schools actually taught life skills and such. Today, everybody is a winner.. woot.
