EDUCATIONAL INCUBATION & HATCHING CHAT THREAD, w/ Sally Sunshine Shipped Eggs

Good morning Dax, do you still have your RIR? I’m working with White Cornish, Speckled Sussex and Bielefelders now.
Oh you are working with pretty birds. I hope they lay well. I still have my Reds and a bunch of just mixed just layers then I just bought a few more ISA. ISA's are not real long-lived birds but they're really nice they forage pretty well and they lay a ton of good sized eggs. I did not have much success hatching and keeping any reds this year I managed to get one hand the rest were all cockerels.

Most are too young to lay yet. Sold a major part of mutts to friend and started over. I hope they lay well. Spring will tell

This fire has been horrific. The town it burned down is famous for retired folk many of which couldn’t escape. Sickening. The guy I bought my house from lived near there. I’m hoping he moved. He would have been 85
I heard they're sifting through the ashes looking for bone fragments the fire was moving so hot and so fast people couldn't get out and burn them up totally

Not sure of the speed but it was extremely fast. Couple that with it started at 6:40 am the winds were so bad from the north. It was actually near freezing at the time.

No coyote activity near coops thankfully.
