The quail pen is ready for occupancy, but I still have things to do when I can get a few things.
It’s near an outlet, so I’ll figure out how and where to add a heat lamp. We have a storm rolling in, so I’ll just look out the window to decide how to do it.
Mr. “Ha ha, I stole Mom’s boot as she was coming out!” hasn’t been inside all day. He can get into the sun porch, but prefers an outside cover, so I’ll be figuring out what he wants when he spends the day outside.

Nah, I like the look of it... the first few days.

Dishes done, coop done-ish, frostbite duck is checked, and fine. Limping duck is checked, and now in the house for care. She waited juuust long enough to poop on me as we entered the kitchen. The linoleum (and walls, side of the hoosier, & doorframe) is easier to clean than carpet!
The big coop has a thick layer of mud inside the entrance on the storage side. What was the storage side, and is now the hang out during the day.

And more importantly the insurance called and said they have accepted the estimate from the company that’s going to repair the house from tree damage.

Soon. Perhaps this weekend but it’s supposed to start raining tomorrow and pretty much for the next 10 days.
