EDUCATIONAL INCUBATION & HATCHING CHAT THREAD, w/ Sally Sunshine Shipped Eggs

Gertrude is still holding out on us. We have 9-12yo campers this week. They’re my favorite group at the farm. Pictured: two bottle calves (Bocephus and Lady Loin), one bratty wether goat (Beaux), and Gertrude.

Also fresh, made-from-scratch cinnamon rolls with strawberry icing. I roll them out on a 12ft (or so) butcher block.

Cynthia I havent a clue what colors, they didnt have these fancy things when I bred them, I had the whites, then blues then reds. but she said she has all kinds and these are not from one specific pen, so as they grow help will be needed!

You Know I love me some silkies. :love. Looks like a splash in the back?

Sally you are raising chickens again?

Silkies a friend sent me eggs, I screwed up the hatch and he had 6 hatch out. I ordered chicks though, because I dont want to end up with all boys and all girls, the number six is not good to start out with lol. it was too hot to ship chicks until recently so she may be able to soon before it gets hot again.

trying to get the video to load on my internet will take ten or so minutes. but thank you for sharing it with us ahead of time!

how many chickens do you have now? Can you process and eat any if so what is the way you can do so?

would you like me to make a spritz bottle of essential oils and send them? you should not use anything but natural right now. I have citronella, Lavender, Lemon Eucalyptus, & Rosemary to make a natural bug spray, I am not sure that the plastic cobalt blue bottles I have will work to send it to you, I think stored in a glass spritz bottle is best. I will order some from amazon today and they will come tomorrow. should I make one bottle or two? they will only be a few oz each, 4 oz at most, it should go a long way. @kwhites634

Not all that hot here, but the humidity is bad. Gnats are a royal PITA; haven't found anything that works for long.

Hey campin, you didnt send me the image of the cin rolls!! ha ! did you share with Gertie?

I don't think he is going to make it. I'm having a very difficult time pushing them back in. I think I'm doing more harm than good. They just keep flattening but not going inside the vent. Tried using grape seed oil to lubricate but no dice.
I pray you culled the poor thing yes? that looked really bad rupture
