EDUCATIONAL INCUBATION & HATCHING CHAT THREAD, w/ Sally Sunshine Shipped Eggs

Our 14 year old granddaughter ..went to school..is very very sick with the virus right now. :(. Everyone has different feelings about this subject for sure. Won't get into it.
Strange how this virus doesn’t affect the youth as strong. I read the Spanish flu was very hard on the youth.

So the Spanish flu was h1n1?
Yes indeed.
The H1N1 strain was the virus that was responsible for the pig flue outbreak, I think it was on 2010.
The influenza virus have only 2 "antennas "(AKA- Antigens) that the immune system recognises:
H-Hemathidin
N-Neuroaminidaze
This antigens have a lot of variances and that is the meaning of the number.
H1N1 is a pig flue variant
H1N5 an avian strain very violent and can heart people
H9N2 an avian strain not very violent
H3N2 A human strain
Once the 2 antigens mutate and change, it will be a completely different virus for the immune system and it will need a complete new vaccine. The simplicity of the virus make it very mutable and so make the vaccination efficient very short lived.
Other viruses have much more Antigens
