Hi welcome to the area! We also have a covered run attached to the coop and haven't had any problems yet. Is your run fence buried so that predators can't dig beneath it? Our chickens free range when we are home, and I have lost a few to hawks that way (had one chick snatched literally from between my feet!). Raccoons are a problem here but as long as your chicks are in the coop at night you should be ok. My neighbors have ducks and our local fox seems to prefer them, lucky for us!Hi there. We are in Brewster. We have 6, 5 week old chicks. Im sorry i cant help yoi with finding homes. However as a new chicken person AND new to the area (we moved from nebraska a year ago), I wondered if you could give me any advice on predators here. It seems like there are many and I worry about leaving my chicky babies out in the run all day. It is a covered, secure run, attached to the coop. Any advice? Thanks!
