Ok...Today I was out with my little flock and noticed that Bird #4 (Hooty) has lost the long tail feather. Maybe one of the older girls got it.
I guess I will just have to wait on the crowing to start.
EEs are sooooo hard to sex! (for me) I have 16 EEs that everyone says are girls, but you couldn't prove it by me. LOL Im no good here, but there are plenty of BYCers that can help ya! Good luck with them. With mine Ive just decided to wait for a crow or an egg! its so frustrating! LOL
On the rooster tail, I have a 22 week old GSL that had a lot of white mixed in with her golden feathers and huge Roo tail feathers, but no comb or wattles to speak of, well this week she lost her last Roo tail feather, and her comb and wattles are growing now and turning red? So your little hooty might be a hen yet! Sandy
I think Hooty may be a roo. The rest look like girls. The ee roos will have a much broader and redder rose comb. By 16 weeks my two ee roos had clearly pointed saddle feathers and green tail feathers. Before that, I was just wait and see. Now I have 3 ee girls, and I can see the difference. Look each day for the pointed saddle feathers that will curve downward.
