EE chick with pasting, tried wet paper towel, didnt work. HELP!!!

I have a 2 day old ee chick who has dried poop covering her vent. Ive tried using a wet paper towel but it is not working!!!! I need help quick!!!! she hasnt pooped in 4 hours!!!!

You can just peel it off very gently. You can soak her butt in warm water first to loosen it up. You will probably pull some of the down off with the poop, but that's better than her not being able to potty.

Get some mineral oil from the pharmacy (for humans, not the kind for paint)....soak a q-tip in the mineral oil and then gently dab the chick's bottom with it. The use your fingers to gently crumble off the dried poo. It takes a minute or so but one the mineral oil starts working it crumbles off pretty easily. You may have to repeat a couple of times but it works like a charm!

thank you all for the ideas. I trimmed some of the down around the vent and used some olive oil to lubricate. she is doing MUCH better now. your ideas might of saved this little chicks life!
