EE chickens laying white to ivory colored eggs

I agree with Dixie, Amercuanas and Araucanas lay blue eggs, period! Green eggs would be EE's.

You will NOT find Amercuanas or Araucanas in hatcheries, period! You can get the real thing from a breeder.

Thank you! 1 out of 3 of my young EE girls is laying a green egg and the other 2 ivory. I'd like to get some purebreeds so I can get some blue eggs. I see some on ebay so maybe I'll give that a try.

Thanks again!

awww man. I hope my EE will lay a colored egg. I stinks when you expect a pretty colored one!

Also, try the ABC (Ameraucana Breeders Club) They have a list of breeders and you might find on local to you! Good luck..

Wow, thats hard to believe that you have 2 that lay ivory eggs. I have 5 girls and none have given me an ivory egg. I would love to have an ivory to add to my egg basket. You just need to get a couple more EE's and a couple of the ameraucanas. I wanted all the colors of the egg rainbow...i bought 4 more little EE's just in case if the bigger girls didnt lay all the pretty colors that i wanted. So here in a few weeks i will have 4 more different colored eggs. So far no two girls have layed the exact color.

Answer: Get more EE's

I have three EE chicks that won't be laying until december I guess - so i'll cross my fingers for green eggs. But I really need to try to hatch some blue egg layers.

I have 19 chicks that are around 6 weeks old and they should lay a nice range of colors. I have 2 cuckoo marans, 2 welsummers, 3 ee's, 3 light bramhas, 3 silver laced wyandootes, 2 silver sebrights, 1 black cochin ( so ctue! ) and more. I started with 5 chicks and my husband wasn;t happy about that and then well every time I went to the feed store they still had some so I kept adding to the pen. I don't think he's figured out I have 19 babies...either that or he's given up!

I also have eggs in the incubator that have pipped today!

What can I say - I am having a god time!

It's fun to talk chickens with people who are equally excited - thanks!

I have one adult EE that lays pink tinted eggs. I am wondering if the egg color varies from the same hen, or in other words, can my hen still lay blue/green, or will she continue to always lay pink?

She will never lay green or blue if she lays pink eggs. She will have different shade of pink or light brown thru her cycle. Breed her to an EE or Amerc. roo, you would get some green egg layers.
