And what were the results?
I am wanting to start a fun project for myself, to breed my EE hens to a diff breed roo to try and get 1. Better production 2.Pretty, large eggs 3. Pretty birds
I would also like to good temperament and hardiness, as well. I know crossing with a production bred roo would give me better egg laying ability, but I also want pretty birds. I'd thought of white egg layers to try and keep the brown out of the eggs, but they all seem to have skittish temperaments.
So my list so far is this:

1. Speckled Sussex (fun color)
2. Silver Laced Wyandotte (smaller comb a plus!)
3. Barred Rock
4. Delaware
5. New Hampshire Red
6. Black Australorp
7. Exchequer Leghorn (pretty, but skittish and hard to find/expensive)

I currently have a gorgeous Buff Orp roo with a great temperament who is the father of some of my 6wk old chicks, but I don't really expect them to be great layers.

What do you guys think? Any of you have experience to share? Pictures of your crosses? I REALLY like pictures:D
Thanks!

I bred my EE roo to a Hamburg and got this handsome fellow in the back (the mostly white and black) in this pic of my three boys.

I currently have an egg in the incubator that is a cross between the same EE roo and my splash Andie.

What is the bird in front, with the black and red? And what is the temp of the Hamburg EE?
Thanks for the photo--pretty birds!

I love crossing ee's with different breeds. My favorite is my original cross of a blue ee hen with a blue cochin rooster.

This is a wonderful hen that lays lots of green eggs, is calm, pretty, spends lots of time in my house watching television with me.

Here is one of her kids crossed back on a frizzle cochin rooster

This is one I like a lot. It is a white silkie hen crossed with a blue ee rooster

I crossed my EE rooster with a couple of black sex link hens and got an incredible variety of variously coloured and conformed offspring. They have nice temperaments and lay eggs from green to a khaki or desert cammo colour. They started laying 7 weeks earlier than the purebred Ameraucana chicks that were hatched with them, and each of them produces an egg a day just like their moms.

I did the same thing only reversed. EE hen with BSL roo. The babies are amazing and all are sooooooo different!!!! Eggs are the olive drab color, excellent, early layers. Strong, hardy chicks. It is an amazing combination!!! I also have a couple of babies that are EE roo crossed with BTWJB hen. They are the cutest, funniest little things!!! I also crossed an EE hen with a Golden Campine roo. Got two babies that just look like an EE. One was killed by a hawk at about 12 weeks old.

The other is now a wonderful layer of really pretty green eggs. I need to dig out some pics of all them. I have found EE crosses to be some of my favorite mixed breed birds. They are just so strong. I always joke the EE eggs would be fertile even without a rooster. I have hatched 100% of all I have set.

How is egg production, color, and temperament?

Only three months old, none yet. But all of my chickies think I am trying to kill them every time I walk by, lol. Only mild mannered ones are two very old EE hens.
