I know EE's aren't really a pure breed, but I'm just wondering.

If you cross an EE roo with another breed of hen - (in my case WL's and RIR's) are the chicks mutts or EE's?

I tend to call mine EEs if they lay blue or green eggs, since that's my criteria for an EE. I have 2 Silkie/EE mixes...1 lays cream colored eggs and the other lays blue. If you don't know what they will lay you should probably call them EE crosses.

Easter Egger is the term for anything that has blue egg genetics somewhere in them (or at least Ameraucana or Araucana somewhere in them. . . I have an EE who lays light brown eggs)

So if you cross an EE with another bird, you still have an EE.

Chances are your EE probably has green to blue-green genetics, which means crossing it to a brown layer will make pale olive-type green eggs or brown eggs.
