I have a sinking feeling one of my 10 week old EE's is a Roo. What do you think?

This one is an EE mix, around 2 months old. Any guesses as to gender?

The EE mix that's 2 months old looks like it has a rooish comb and heavier legs. The other look like pullet to me. My 19 week old EE pullets have feathers near their tails like that (At least I hope they are pullets...but no eggs yet and I'm not counting my pullets before they lay!

I wish I could see your chick's combs a little better, that seems to be the easiest way to tell. I've had to re-home 3 EE's that had thick combs, heavy legs and they started to crow.

I look at their pea combs to see if they have one row or three...one being a pullet and three being a roo... the thickness of their legs...pullets have thinner, finer looking legs than roos...and I look at their saddle feathers to see if they are pointed or rounded at the ends.

And if all else fails, just wait until you either get eggs or don't!

Thanks! I guess I will have to wait it out.

Its driving me crazy because only 1 will crow at a time. Last week my Bantam Brahma started crowing, none others. I gave him away and the next morning my Blue Andalusian started crowing, grrrr. He is going to a friends house too. Guess maybe the following morning, some other possible 'roo' will take over crowing duties. My laying flock is quickly dwindling.

The black EE mix is one we are really holding out hope that it will turn out to be a hen. I've always wanted a dark EE hen. But the person we got it from was leaning towards it being a roo. So it wont surprise me much if it is.

I would think the tan one would have a more developed comb by now, but the tail feathers do look a little suspicious. Here's a picture of my rooster at 12 weeks old for comparison. The black one looks like a pullet. Also, the 3 bumps vs 1 for telling a pullet from a rooster isn't always correct. I have a hen that has 3 bumps.

I just went out to inspect their combs to see if I could tell.

The black one has 3 rows, the middle one being just a bit bigger, but then so does its sister, who we are pretty sure is a hen.

The tan EE has a 1 row comb, but it is slightly redder than my other two EEs.

I looked at both chickens saddle feathers and they are rounded, not pointy.

The black one does have a green sheen to its longer tail feathers, but I think one parent was an Australorp (spelling?) which have a green sheen to all their feathers right?

So I am just as confused now, if not moreso lol.
