A neighbor needed to downsize so DH surprised me with 2 EE laying hens for my birthday earlier this month. Very pretty light blue eggs. The neighbor had a lot of roosters of various breeds or crosses (these hens were pretty beat up on their backs, but are looking better now). The main rooster looked to be a Rhode Island REd, from what little I could see. We saved their first eggs and put them in an incubator we borrowed from another neighbor.
If we get any female chicks, do you think they may also lay blue eggs?
