We have 5 EE and one started to lay 2 weeks ago (while it was still warm down here) she laid/layed off and on for about 2 weeks then stopped . We thought it might be the weather, The cinnamon queens have not stopped laying and they started about 3 weeks before the EE. So what's happening? does this mean they won't lay at all this winter? I am in lower Alabama about 5 miles from the gulf. We thought perhaps they needed better feed so we upped the feed to more protein and added extra treats. But so far no luck. Anybody got any ideas as to why they stopped that don't include the weather?

It's not about temp, it's about day length.
EE's can be sporadic layers.
As long as she is eating/drinking/pooping/moving around OK,
I'd not worry about it.

CQ are high production layers, so more likely to lay earlier and more thru first winter.
