I would like to hatch eggs from my EE pullet and have two EE roos that I could use. All three have muffs and beards. Would that be a problem? I understand that there is a fatal gene in EEs, and that it happens when both parents have muffs. Is that correct? Should I use another roo instead?

Thanks

There is no lethal gene in EEs. They're a crossbreed. Muff and beards have nothing to do with it. You are thinking about true Araucanas, who have tufts, not muffs and beards. Many here breed Ameraucanas as well as Easter Eggers, including myself. Nope, you're fine with whatever rooster and hen you want to use.

Here is an article about it with pictures of Araucanas.
