EE or Black Sexlink?

Easter Eggers are hard to figure out. I have one about 13 weeks, and I think I will be nervous until she either lays an egg or crows! Mine looks very similar to yours but brown with less black. It seems that coloring always makes the neck feathers look pointed, but the reason I believe mine is a pullet is the saddle feathers are rounded. Is there anyway you can post a good side shot showing the saddle feathers?

Whoops!

Doesn't really look like either one to me. As far as the feed issue goes you can try mixing them for awhile. Sometimes they have a hard time switching to pellets when they've been used to crumble. I like pellets better (seems to be less waste) but I feed gamebird crumble this time of year since the chicks freerange with the adults. Most of them don't have any problems when I switch back to pellets in the late fall, but there's alway a few in every bunch....

it looks like a really red black-sexlink to me. I'm not seeing anything obvious that screams EE (legs are yellow, comb is single)

My BSL's are fairly buff colored (daddy was BO) I think the term "black" sexlink is a bit of a misnomer because the pullets mature in a wide array of red/black combinations. I guess they are black when they hatch though, hence the name.

Hmm, interesting....

And yea, we're mixing it now but they just eat around the pellets. I guess I'll just wait a LITTLE longer.

Oh yeah. Guess I should have looked at the shanks! I don't know much about BSLs. I would still like to see a side shot tomorrow, though.

It looks a lot like one of my hens which must be part EE,except mine is darker in the body, a beaitiful iradescent green and slightly lighter in the head, It lay a most awful coloured muddy green-ochre egg (poor thing) Just started two days ago . She is close to 7 month old and didn't go red till recently. But yeah she looked a lot like this--nice nature too.
