I was pretty sure this gray one was a pullet but she is looking like a he with the different tail, the red shoulders the long thin neck feathers of different colors. Comb is under developed and no waddles visible on any of them. I call her Storm. Storm is also one of my smaller hens, she seems to always greet me first and the others tends to follow her around. She is probably a he, yeah? Gosh, I sure hope so the roo I bought was a total jerk from the start. I adopted him to a friend whom is equipped to seperate and keep nasty roosters. I was sad because I wanted a rooster. Im really hoping storm does turn out to be a rooster. They are right at 6 weeks so its still a bit early for me to knkw for sure but Im starting to think Storm might be a roo, let's hope. Picture are hard to see well.

Really?! 😃 that makes me happy because the hens tend to like him. Storm became my favorite because she was always protecting the smallest black one, whom is also very timid. I would be very happy if storm is a cockerel. THANKS

Storm has a bit of a gap between his beaks. I dont even know how you say that. He/she eats and drinks just fine so Im not yet too worried, although he is a little on the small side of my chickens.

He may have the beginnings of cross beak or scissor beak, which is not uncommon in EEs. I have read that deeper feed and water dishes can help.

I have a hen with a pretty bad case of cross beak and I just make wet mash (food with water; oatmeal consistency) twice a day so she can scoop it with her bottom beak and she is growing and thriving right along with the others 😊

Oh ok, I wondered if that is what that was. I hope it doesnt get to bad for him. I do have the deep feeder cups and deep water cups using both 5 gallon buckets. He seems to be eating fine, I have been watching him pretty close.
