got 2 silkie chicks, both 8 weeks old. im sure one is a rooster because of the massive wattles he started growing last week, but not so sure about the other. shes the bottom of the pecking order, really calm and friendly and has pretty much no wattle growth. though i know it can be hard to sex silkies so im curious if this is confirmation shes a pullet or if its still too early to make a decision.

Chick 1 is the roo
Chick 2 is potential pullet?

chick 2 is the bottom of the pecking order out of 3 chickens (chick 1 and another confirmed pullet) which makes me think shes a girl

You didn't get any answers. Where your thoughts correct? I'm no silkie expert at all so I love to try and learn.
nope unfortunately, :( we sold chick 1 and a couple of weeks later chick 2 grew a huge comb and started trying to mate the other hens. this was my first time having silkies, they really are a surprise

I'm always debating on getting more/another because the silkie hen I have is so dang hateful when broody, and is always broody.

I have a lady that breeds silkies, Showgirls, Satins and some Barbu d'Anvers crosses. She sells grow outs so I am trying to learn as much as possible in case I decide to try for a nicer girl and the way she handles her birds they are more friendly than the ones I grow out.

Thanks for your reply, sorry it didn't work out for you.
