Hey all, chicken newbie here. I have two chicks that hatched at my daughters school, they were born april 2nd (we got to watch our mystery chick hatch) and are now 8 weeks. One I'm pretty confident is a black star/sex link pullet, the other is ???? Sassy.
Sass started all yellow/white, and a few weeks ago started getting brown on the wings that is spreading a bit. Theres a lone black feather coming in. There are feathers on the feet and legs but not thick. Feet are polydactyl. Sass is fluffy, and definitely growing faster than my other chick.
2-3 weeks ago the wattle and comb started growing and darkening quickly. Sass is also the much more aggressive and territorial of the two and is very protective of our other one.
I feel like all the signs point to Roo but I want to be very sure as we would have to rehome a roo due to city ordinance. I have no idea what this bird is in any regard, other than a chicken. Thanks in advance!
Also I didnt realize my only recent photos were through the run mesh, sorry! But here's their growth so far, from 1 week to yesterday.
