I'm not sure but I think they're referring to the chubby cheek look of the ee's with their beards and muffs.

Chipmunks refers to the EE chicks will all the brown markings. They sorta look like chipmunks!

I ask cuz I got some EE's I hatched and some got puffy cheeks and some don't.
