This bird is much more intensely colored than my other two EEs, as usual it was a sexed pullet. From the top the pattern seems to still flow evenly but, from the side all I see is that orangey/rusty color. I swear it's hackles have gotten lighter, but maybe it's just the deeper reddish tone that is tricking my eye. The comb has been wider at the top since it was 4 weeks old, no significant growth and not a drastic color change, no more red than the other two EEs. Legs and feet look the same as hatch mates.

On the left.
I couldn't get a good photo of the comb, just blurs. I'll try again tomorrow. I need to reduce my flock and I don't want to re-home it as a female if it's a male.

So all this panic for nothing? Lol
I figured a cockerel would have a much larger comb by now but, it's just so orange compared to the others and I have had SO many cockerels this year!

This guy is 8 weeks old today. He stuck out like a sore thumb. I currently have 2 cockerels out of 7 "pullets" I bought. I'm not sure which boy do I find a home for though. This guy wants to be the head of the flock.

Definitely obvious. So handsome though, love that white contour around the eye!

So everyone still think pullet? Her face is so red all of a sudden! And that slightly bare patch at the base of the tail has me worried again. I did part the feathers and looked for saddles but there's nothing visible as far as I could see. Almost 12 weeks old now.
