EEEEK! What do I do?

Just to make it all more confusing, my PO called me this morning to come pick up my chicks! So yes, the mail isn't happening today, but there were a bunch of PO staff at the distribution center, still working! You could try calling today and see if someone picks up the phone.

This is confusing to me as well. I've never ordered from Ideal, but at McMurray, our phone number is printed on the outside of the box with a big label of Live Baby Chicks. Our PO is very small, and they will call regardless of whether we notify them ahead of time. They don't want to be responsible for the live animals any longer than they have to be.

We planned to have our chicks shipped to arrive today. When we asked the lady at McMurray about Presidents Day, she said they'd be shipped on Sunday to arrive on Tuesday. This didn't make sense to us, so we moved our arrival date to next week, just to be safe.

I'm sure you'll get a call first thing tomorrow morning - with or without the donuts.

Yay I came up with a good idea! Haha!

For future use, I did do one thing with my PO that seemed to help them remember me. They'd seen me a few times prior, and I'm almost always wearing either maroon and/or orange (can you so GO HOKIES). So the day I went in to tell them that I was receiving chicks I brought my maroon and orange business card with me. She said she'd never forget to call haha. Being memorable can sometimes have its advantages.

Well I showed up uber early this morning, but alas, no chickies

At least they have my info now, which is awesome, and everyone at the PO was really nice....another truck should be coming in around noon, so wish me luck!

My chicks from Ideal got stuck on a plane an extra day due to a winter storm 2 years ago. All 13 chicks and 2 turkeys were all fine despite being a day later than expected (3 days instead of 2). I called the post office and told them the situation and they called me as soon as the chicks arrived. I'm known as the chicken man at my post office

Well now I am worried. Post office says they are being delayed till tomorrow. It was supposed to warm up a bit this week, and we should have had rain, but instead yhe temp dropped like 20 degrees and we have snow.

I just hope they are at least in a warm place...they should come in around 10 am tomorrow...taking a vacay day from work to stay at home and nervously fret lol...wish me luck!
