I read a bunch of the threads about spiders in the coop and decided that I'm gonna use my homemade bug spray in there. I put lavender and peppermint oil in filtered water and sprayed the wood beams and joists with it. It's 100% natural and it's got decent airflow in there.

But I'm wondering if anybody else has tried this and what are your experiences with it?

They're up high where the chickens don't get up to, but I walk through the webs when I go to get eggs. 99% of the time, it's on my face and hair.
Try taking a stick and knocking them down. Or conversely pick up a bird and aim it over your head lol (hubby has joked that I should try tying a bird to a long stick to "extend" the reach and then holding it over my head :p). My flock knows when I'm helplessly waving a stick in the air that spiders might fall onto them.

A couple of these will desensitize you.
