I had a fluorescent light on a timer in our coop this winter, no extra heat; my two EEs started laying it Sept/Oct and laid all winter. In fact they did their best laying when it was extremely cold in January, go figure! The littlest EE just finished taking a month off but I believe it was due to using her protein to growing back feathers that the roo had pulled out.
