hoping you're all wrong haha. but I'm guessing you're right:( What do I do with all these little jerks if they're roo's? Imposters! At least I bought the two RIR pullets so I was promised some eggs! That would mean I have 9 ROOSTERS??? Should I process them now? Is there any reason to wait "just to see" if they are not roo's and end up laying eggs?

I'm hoping you're right so I have at least a couple pullets other than the RIR's!!!! I knew the reds were pullets I purchased them as pullets but the other 9 were straight runs. I was really hoping for blue eggs, now it's looking like the dogs are just going to have lots of chicken (we'd process them, I feed my dogs raw... unless I could find a good home for each of them)

I see all roos except for the RIRs that look like pullets. All that red on the shoulders of the EEs means they are roos...among other things like redness and size of combs, etc. But the patchy feathering patterns on them definitely say roo for all of the EEs that I see.

Yikes, I am so sorry about that un-lucky count of roo's. I'm still gasping, 9 cockerels!

At least the Reds will be layers.

Lesson learned don't buy from Tractor Supply haha. There are some farms around here that have some nice young layers under a year- so when I get rid of these roos (and I think I have 2 EE hens, one being reg size and one being banty) I will prob pick up a couple more EE's or something else:) I had a friend come over who is familiar with chickens more than I am. There are definitely around 7 cockerels, but I DO have 4 hens for sure!

Win some ya lose some, I'll try to find these boys nice homes, if not, they're dog food!
