Ok so I have four "Ameraucanas". One roo, 3 girls. They are just over one month old. The hatchery labeled them as Ameraucanas, but I have heard that Ameraucanas from hatcherys are actually EE's. None of them seem to be a recognized color, except for two. One I am pretty sure is blue wheaten, one i think may be brown red. The other two are a mystery. JUst because they are not recognized colors, does that mean that they are EE's?

There is no breed officially known as "easter eggers." Generally speaking the Americauna and Auracana's have been dubbed the "easter eggers" because of the other than brown or white colored eggs that they lay. Technically any group of chickens that lays different colored eggs could be refered to as "easter eggers." Most of the time the confusion lies in the distinction between Americauna's and Auracana's. Hope this helps.
