eewwwww!

Sooooo....does anyone else wash their chicken's feet? Our chicks are only a month old and we've been giving them "spa treatments" to get the cemented-on poopy off of their feet. The EEs seem to enjoy it, but the BOs only just endure our goofy notions! (Flock of only seven birds, by the way.)

Funny you should mention cement - last year hubby was pouring an extension on our front porch. Two of our tamer hens just would not stay out of it! They are Brahmas and have heavily feathered feet, so cement in the feathers is a big no-no. I kept taking them in the house and washing the cement off their feet. I would keep them in for a bit, but as soon as they went back outside, into the new cement they went again. Hubby smoothed it out probably 15 times, but they got the last laugh - I have a couple of "chicken toes" in the new portion of my front porch!
