Egg Asthetics Question

I do not even own white egg layers other then my duck eggs. I give and sometimes sell and most people prefer the lovely colors. I too love giving colorful cartons. I have had people freak at first because the egg is blue they think it's bad. But yes a egg is a egg they all taste the same.

I love blue eggs best, and throughout the years people I've dealt with have either loved a mix of colors or they want all brown. My experience has been that most, not all, fresh egg buyers have not wanted white eggs...they've associated white with store eggs, lol. Right now what I have is a very small flock for my pleasure alone and the mixed color extras are sold easily, but if I had a flock again for selling a lot of eggs, I'd go 1/2 rainbow & 1/2 brown. Nothing seems to have changed much over the years in my realm except more people seem to accept green eggs, lol.

I like them. Having blue, pink, and yellow is pretty. I love the olive eggs too.

Your concern/question had me thinking and I asked by dh, who is not really into 'organic' or 'farm-fresh' and enjoys his velveta cheese whiz - if you know what I mean.
Anyway he said he wouldn't care whether it was a brown or white eggs and would choose a 'farm-fresh' doz green eggs if there was a sign explaining the better nutritional value. Oh, and he also said he might pay double if the eggs were a lot better for him. Just one man's opinion.

I had a few egg customers balk at the green eggs from my EEs. Till they opened the cartons and their kids fell in love with them. One customer tells me that his son refuses to eat anything but the green eggs now.

Well there ya go.....how wrong could I be?

I personally love brown eggs and hate having to buy commercially grown eggs. The yolks are so pale and insipid looking! What the heck are those poor chickens missing in their food to cause that?
The one problem I have with this thread is, knowing Squishy...really well, now she is going to want several other breeds to have multi color eggs to sell!

They're missing greens. Greens (beta carotene) causes orange yolks. Come to think of it, some fresh air and sunshine wouldn't hurt those battery hens one bit either.
