That 'clot' is actually the waste product of the chick in the egg. The uh... poop, basically. Looks like it would've been good to go to me- it even looks like it was absorbing the yolk just fine, so it clearly made it to where it should have pipped and just... didn't. Case of darn bad luck
Apologies I came across this thread, so hope its ok to post this on here, I was wondering if anyone had any idea at what number of days this poor little thing died, it was still in the main sac so I'm guessing still a little bit off the 21 days? Not having a positive hatch so far and still hoping that there might be hope for the last few eggs but so far have removed several bad ones, several were none fertile or ceased early on but 2 I think had been something and bacteria might have got in, this one gave me a shock as it was a chick.
