That's not the entire haul from today, just what I had so far. There will probably be five or six more eggs by evening. I have 36 layers, however, several who are not laying at all right now for various reasons. I just think eggs are so beautiful! I think the very speckled one is from Lexie, my older BR hen. There are no Delaware eggs or BBS Orp eggs in the basket. They are all taking the day off, it seems.

Love the eggs! My girls gave me 7 eggs yest. and I am not sure who the 2 new layers are, but 5 of them were stacked very nicely in one nest box, 4 on the bottom and one right on top like a pyramid!! so cute.

I didn't know that BRs could lay speckled eggs! I have 3 marans but get a lighter speckled egg from another of my chickens and I have been confused about who it came from. I thought it was from one of my RIRs but it could be from one of my BRs?

What a beautiful basket up eggs! I am only getting 3 eggs a day from my 8 hens. I figure most of them are just laying every other day.
