Egg Bleaching ?

It seems like one of my rhode islands' eggs are becoming lighter in color. Within the past month or so, the are seeming to fade. Is rhis common or a vitamin defec.?

It's normal. My hens eggs go from dark to light during a cycle. When the cycle starts all over again they go back to dark.

That's funny, I was going to ask the same question! Our RIRs (the whole flock!!) eggs have went from dark brown to almost white in about a week! I wonder if they will go back to brown? They don't really have a 'cycle', they never really did stop laying. They slowed down some in the winter, but they just recently picked back up. Now all their eggs are very light colored.

I agree with the other posts. Mine change shades back and forth too.
