Egg bound Button Quail, may be prolapsing. In distress now.

Ok managed to get some pics. See what I mean, anatomy is a mess due to lacerations all around vent

shes exhausted, but can tell theres relief. will have to take her to an avian vet asap as she needs much attention & antibiotics or the bowel contents will cause infecion. nothing else to do today except get some water into her and keep her warm

I can empathise having had big babies myself, lol.

Can you squirt a load of antibiotic ointment into and over the vent so at least that is helping her heal for now?

Thank you. Poor girl. But it is notable that she has relief now. All she wants to do is to sleep and will set her up with warmth in hospital cage. Should she live, she can never return to the flock. Believe her reproductive organs have suffered much and with the vent problem, she cannot be with the males in the cage with the others.
Poor little bird. She is rather wild, but knows me, still for her to allow me to get the egg out and then still not try to get away says much.
