Egg Bound hen need help asap

Ok. Since you had this problem too maybe you can give me some more advice. I did the warm bath and massaged her belly. All she did was poop. I reluctantly stuck my (gloved) finger in her vent and tried to feel for an egg, but didnt really know what I was feeling for. But I didnt feel anything that I thought would be abnormal or an egg. She is trying to push something out and I believe I can feel and egg in her belly. I am going to feel her sister's belly tomorrow who is the same breed and similar size so I can try to compare how their abdomens feel just to know what I'm feeling for. Other than that, is there anything you suggest I should do?

I am going to get my mother to check her tomorrow when I get off work since she grew up with chickens and probably knows more of what we should be looking for than I would.

Hi, I am looking for advice too. My hen is walking like a penquin and I am pretty sure she is egg bound.
I was on vacation for a week and now coming back, I do not know how many days she has been like this. The person I had feeding and watering did not notice anything,
Her adomen is pretty swollen more than other hens that have been egg bound. I have her isolated in a separate pony barn.
I am not sure what to do if I try and massage her abdomen....any hints?
Also, if you put liquid calcium in the water - how much?
Thank you!

I don't know about the calcium but if you massage it just massage it starting where the egg is and working to the front. And bath her in warm water and massage her in the water. My hen started pushing and I got at the back of the egg and helped push it out. Hopefully this helped. If you have any other questions just ask.

Thanks to both of you. My favorite hen who is 4 years old is (I believe) egg bound. I just moved her inside in a cage, and am giving her water with liquid calcium in it. Does any particular food help?
I will also start bathing her and massage. I really want this girl to make it. I live in Ohio so the change of weather from cold to warm to cold is not helping.

Thanks!
Small farm girl with a heart for hens.
