I think one of our hens is egg bound. She has not laid an egg in days. For the last three days her legs have been spread wide and she slowly walks like a penguin. I checked her vent and it was a little dirty with a pale yellow discharge.
Today I soaked her rear end in warm water for 10 minutes. Later we gave her one crushed Tumbs with some corn, which she ate. Still no change. Tonight at bed time I gave her 2ml of mineral oil orally and rubbed some on her vent.
Is there anything else we can do? Could it be something else. Please help.

@azygous and @Eggcessive may be able to help you more than I can. Is it possible that you could wrap her in a towel, put on a glove, (with some vaseline) and stick your finger in her vent? You may be able to feel an egg that way. It certainly sounds like she is egg bound. Although sometimes eggs (especially soft shelled ones) get stuck a bit higher up, so you may not be able to feel it.

I really hope your girl gets better!

Feel you hen's abdomen for swelling. If the swelling is behind the legs below the vent, it's reproductive. If the swelling is mostly in front of the legs and it hangs low, pushing her legs apart, it's ascites, a liver disorder and the swelling is from fluid buildup due to the liver not functioning very well.

We currently dealt with an egg-bound hen over the weekend. She actually had two. 1 passed but the second was very large according to X-ray. I gave her multiple Epsom Salt baths over the weekend. On Saturday she passed the contents of the egg, but no shell which is currently still inside her. We have her on calcium supplements, antibiotics and pain/anti-inflammatory meds hoping she gets the crushed shell out.

Continue giving her daily calcium. Soak her in a warm Epsom Salt bath for 20 minutes then put her in a quiet place to see if she will pass the egg. Do that a couple of times tonight and see if she passes it. Give calcium again before the 1st soak. Make sure water is deep enough for her rear to be submerged. You may have to hold her rear down in the water.
