Egg bound?? Impacted Crop?? Please help.

I have a BR pullet, age not known


Hasn't ever laid an egg.

*Lethargic

*Not going Poo

*Urine running down vent

*When trying to Poo, only urine comes out

*Full Crop

*eyes closed, tail raised

She may be egg bound! It sounds like she is. Has she started laying eggs yet, has she layed one today, or is she laying regularly?
Massage her abdomen, do you feel anything that resembles an egg or do you feel "crunching" or "crackling"? Let us know immediately, her life could be at stake.

Closer towards the vent area, right behind the pelvic bone.

I don't know. I couldn't feel anything. I don't really know what to be feeling for though (I know an egg, but I have no experience with this..)

There is now a big glob of white/yellow stuff on her vent.

sounds like a shell-less egg.

I haven't had to deal with this yet myself, but it sounds like she may have had an egg break inside her. I'd give her a warm bath to clean her up and relax her and then gently probe around inside with a gloved (if possible) vaseline covered finger. Hopefully someone with more experience will come along soon. Oh, don't forget the blow dry after the bath. Use the low setting.
