I have an Easter egger that up until 3 days ago was a normal layer, now she won't leave he nesting box, the only out of the ordinary thing that has happened is we mowed the lawn near our coop, I thought she may be egg bound and as far as I can feel there's nothing in there, if I take her out of the box she will eat/drink/preen normally but after a few min she runs right back in she is also still pooping and I don't see any worms, I've also notices the other hens have been pecking at her more than usual...help!!

Hello and welcome to BYC

If she's staying in the nest box all day and sleeps in there as well she's probably broody. How does she behave when you take her out? Did you notice anything different? Is she puffing herself up and making clucking noises?

@sumi, yes she puffs up and clucks, if I take her out she eats drinks poops and goes right back in

It sounds like she's broody

You can now either give her some fertile eggs to hatch for you, or break her broodiness by placing her in a wire bottom cage for a few days with only food and water.

Yep, what Sumi says - two options - I vote for fertile eggs, but I am an enabler.
