I’ve read a lot of posts on here about egg bound ducks but I was foolishly hoping it wouldn’t happen to my ducks . I’m not sure if it could be water belly instead
I have a almost 2 year old Cayuga mix duck. She has developed a saggy egg pouch over the last several months but has always acted healthy until this morning. She is now walking slowly, tripping, breathing a bit fast, and getting left behind the other ducks. Her pouch looks bigger but when I felt it it feels soft and squishy and I do not feel any eggs. I don’t know if she’s laying but I think she is, and I think she didn’t lay this morning (because of egg color).
I’m going to buy some calcium gluconate today and I gave her a calcium supplement I had.
When she was 4 weeks old she developed a saggy crop and has had it ever since. I read that can be a sign of a heart problem, but until now she has been healthy and happy.
