I’ve seen multiple posts on the topic of egg bound ducks but I haven’t been able to find out when I should intervine. If I found my Pekin this morning, not being able to walk at all, how long till I should give her a warm bath?

Also, on the controversial subject of lubing the vent and egg, should this be used as a last resort if even at all? How long should I wait after her not laying the egg to do this if it is okay?

Sorry, just got back in. I re read my post and I meant to say when was the last time she laid an egg, yesterday....the day before...

So she is new to laying.... what day did you start to get eggs from her? Sometimes there are glitches in the egg making machine, which is normal. It takes some misfire's in order to get it all straighten out.

Where are you located and what's your weather like?

15-20 mins in a warm soak, I use coconut oil to lube vent and feel inside for egg... I do not push or massage or try to move the egg at all, just lube and confirm it is in there... if it is, calcium citrate given at least 50mg per pound... the calcium helps with muscle contractions along with any calcium issues she *might* be having...

Thank you! I will try that as soon as I can get calcium citrate in the morning!

Thank you!!! I haven't seen you on here lately so I didn't tag you, glad you're here giving great advice! @Sakiza you're in good hands with @Miss Lydia and @Ravynscroft helping you out.
